This is a fun class designed to stretch your italic calligraphy, literally. See what happens when you change nib sizes and stretch, squeeze and decorate your letters.

Dress code
Please wear comfortable clothes that don’t mind an ink stain or two!
Materials / What must I bring with?
The workshop includes:
- Handouts
- Trying out different tools: you will have the opportunity to play with different pens in class
- All basic materials (so do not worry if you don’t have anything I will supply and you can buy at or after the class)
- Writegear have kindly offered to supply pens for you to use during the workshop
- Layout paper to work on
- Ink to play with
Please bring if you have:
- Your calligraphy pens, all sizes whatever you have
- Black fine liner
- Gold, silver, white gel pens if you have
- 200g watercolour paper smooth, if you have rough bring as well (if you want to do finished pieces)
- Small pointed brush
- Ink, or water colour, or gouache: 3 colours that you love
- Gold watercolour paint
What you will learn, and what’s included:
- Size matters! How this impacts design
- About different tools and how you size your letters
- Techniques for adding to your overall design – simple illumination, drop shadows and more
- Make cards and mini artworks
